Cancellation Protection

Cancellation protection for extra peace of mind – cancel your motorhome up until the day before departure in the event of unforeseen circumstances.

The cancellation protection costs SEK 1,500 per motorhome and gives you the option to cancel your booking up until the day before the planned rental period begins. In the event of an approved cancellation, only an administration fee of SEK 1,995 per motorhome will be charged.

The protection applies in the event of unforeseen circumstances that were not known at the time of booking, such as serious illness, accident, or death affecting yourself, your partner, a family member, or a travel companion. It also applies in cases of military or civil defense service call-ups, as well as other serious events beyond your control, such as fire or flooding in your home.

For the cancellation protection to be valid, the reason must be supported by documentation such as a medical certificate, documents from an authority, or a certificate from an insurance company. The documentation should be sent to us as soon as possible, preferably within one week after the cancellation.

1. About the Cancellation Protection

The cancellation protection is an optional additional service from HS Fritidsliv AB that can be purchased when booking a motorhome. The service provides extra peace of mind if something unexpected happens and you need to cancel your trip. By purchasing the protection, you accept the terms and conditions below, which supplement our regular booking and cancellation policies.

2. Cost

The price of the cancellation protection is SEK 1,500 including VAT per motorhome. The fee is paid at the time of booking and is non-refundable, regardless of whether the protection is used or not.

3. Validity and Cancellation Period

The protection is valid from the moment the booking is made until the day before the planned rental period begins. Cancellations must be made by phone or email. Cancellation protection can only be purchased at the time of booking and cannot be added later.

4. When the Cancellation Protection Applies

If the cancellation is approved according to these terms and conditions, the customer will only pay an administration fee of SEK 1,995 per motorhome. All other rental costs will be refunded.

The protection applies in the event of unforeseen circumstances that were not known at the time the booking was made, for example:

  • Serious illness, accident, or death affecting yourself, your partner, a family member, or a travel companion.
  • Call-up for military service or civil defense.
  • Other serious events beyond your control, such as fire, flooding, or major damage to your home.

To use the protection, documentation from, for example, a doctor, authority, or insurance company is required. Certificates and supporting documents should be sent to us as soon as possible, preferably within 7 days of the cancellation.

5. When the Protection Does Not Apply

The cancellation protection does not apply:

  • In the event of cancellation on the same day the rental period begins or later.
  • If the customer does not pick up the vehicle without notifying us.
  • If the reason for the cancellation was already known at the time of booking.
  • If the required certificates or documentation are missing or invalid.
  • In the event of changed plans or personal preferences that are not covered by the terms and conditions.

6. Cancellation Without Cancellation Protection

If no cancellation protection has been purchased, our standard cancellation policy applies. This may mean that all or part of the rental cost will be charged depending on when the cancellation takes place.

7. Right of Withdrawal

The cancellation protection is not covered by the right of withdrawal under the Distance Contracts Act, as the service relates to a time-specific leisure activity. Once the booking has been completed, the purchase is binding.

9. Changes to the Terms and Conditions

HS Fritidsliv AB reserves the right to update or change these terms and conditions when necessary. However, changes will not affect bookings that have already been confirmed.

10. Our Recommendation

We recommend cancellation protection for those who book well in advance, travel during peak season, or want extra peace of mind in unexpected situations. The protection reduces the risk of significant costs if the trip cannot be carried out as planned.
